What generates the values shown in the Energy dashboard bar chart?
The Energy dashboard bar chart on Analytics → Energy shows consumption for the currently selected building. The chart pulls data from two sources and merges them:
Source 1 — Live meter data (Analytics)
If your building has meters connected to live data sources (API connections, webhooks, email or file imports), their readings flow through the Analytics module. The chart fetches them aggregated by the granularity you choose (day, week, or month).
Source 2 — Invoice-based consumption
If you have uploaded utility invoices (PDF), the consumption values extracted from them are also included. These appear in the chart alongside live data, with an "(Invoice)" label to distinguish them.
Which meters appear on the Energy tab?
The chart shows all meters for the selected building whose energy_carrier is an energy type — electricity, heating, cooling, gas, ventilation, or CO₂. Water and waste meters are excluded (they have their own tabs).
What controls the chart values
- Building selection: You must select a building from the dropdown. No building = empty chart.
- Date range: Set via the time range picker (last 7 days, month, quarter, year, or custom dates). Only readings within this window are shown.
- Granularity: Day, week, or month — controls how readings are grouped into bars.
- Active meters: You can toggle individual meters on/off using the meter checkboxes. Only checked meters contribute to the chart, and at most 10 meters are fetched at a time — if more than 10 are active the meter selector warns you, and only 10 of them return data. Untick the ones you don't need so the ones you care about are inside the limit.
Each colored bar segment represents one energy carrier
- Electricity (cyan), Heating (amber), Cooling (blue), Gas (red)
- Bars are stacked so you see total consumption and the breakdown by type.
