Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers about the platform, pricing, and how inbilit compares to traditional EMS/EOS systems
What is inbilit?
inbilit is an energy management system (EMS/BEMS, called an EOS in the Nordics) and property management platform for commercial buildings. It combines automatic meter data collection, energy monitoring, cost allocation, tenant billing, and reporting in one system — with a tenant portal included in every plan.
How does inbilit compare to traditional EMS/EOS systems?
Traditional EMS/EOS platforms (energy management systems) are usually sold as enterprise contracts with high per-building fees. inbilit delivers EMS-class monitoring — automatic meter readings, alarms, CO₂ and cost analytics — as a modular add-on on plans from €29 per month, so you only pay for the meters you monitor. Tenant billing and property management are built in rather than sold separately.
What does inbilit cost?
Starter is €29/month, Professional is €99/month, and Enterprise is €99/month plus €5 per building. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial — no credit card required. Energy analytics (EMS/EOS monitoring) is available as a modular add-on.
How many users can I have on each plan?
Every plan includes several user accounts, and the account owner counts as one of them. Starter includes 3 users in total — the account owner plus 2 invited colleagues — Professional includes 10, and Enterprise is effectively unlimited. Each colleague signs in with their own credentials, and you decide which modules they can access. Tenant portal users are separate and do not use up these seats.
Can tenants see their own consumption and bills?
Yes. The Tenant Hub gives every tenant a portal with their bills, documents, consumption overview, and issue reporting — included in all plans.
Which utilities and data sources does inbilit support?
Electricity, water, gas, district heating, and waste. Data arrives automatically via API integrations, CSV/SFTP imports, or OCR-processed supplier invoices — configured in minutes with the AI-assisted import builder.
How is VAT handled on subscriptions?
Prices are shown excluding VAT. Norwegian customers are charged 25% Norwegian VAT (MVA) at checkout. Business customers in the EU and the UK enter their VAT number at checkout and are billed under the reverse-charge mechanism — no VAT on our invoice; you account for it locally. Customers in the United States are currently not charged sales tax. VAT numbers are verified automatically after checkout.
Which countries can I subscribe from?
inbilit is available to businesses in Norway, the EU, the UK, and the United States. In the EU and the UK a valid VAT registration is required, because cross-border subscriptions are billed with reverse charge. In another country? Contact us at support@inbilit.com and we'll help you get set up.
