How do I enable two-factor authentication (MFA) on my account?

Two-factor authentication (2FA/MFA) adds an extra layer of security by requiring a code from your authenticator app in addition to your password.

To enable MFA

  1. Go to Settings → Security tab (shield icon)
  2. Find the "Two-Factor Authentication" section
  3. Click "Enable MFA"
  4. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password)
  5. If you can't scan, manually enter the secret code shown below the QR code
  6. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app
  7. Click "Verify & Enable"

Once enabled, you'll see the status change to "Enabled" (green). The next time you log in, you'll be prompted for a 6-digit code from your authenticator app after entering your password.

To disable MFA

  1. Go to Settings → Security tab
  2. Click "Disable MFA"
  3. Confirm in the warning dialog

Troubleshooting

  • If the verification code doesn't work, make sure your phone's time is synchronized (authenticator apps are time-based)
  • If you lose access to your authenticator app, contact [email protected] to regain access
  • Each user sets up their own MFA — it's not an account-wide setting
