How do I add a building?

A building is the top of the hierarchy: every local, tenant, meter and invoice belongs to one. Adding one takes a minute.

Steps

  1. Go to Buildings in the sidebar and click Add Building.
  2. Fill in the form:
    • Building Name — how the building appears everywhere in the app.
    • Address, City and Postal Code — the address is used to detect the building's energy price zone.
    • Total Area (m²), Rentable Area (m²) and Common Area (m²) — the area breakdown shows what is left. Rentable area cannot exceed total area. These drive occupancy and area-based cost allocation, so enter them now rather than later.
    • Year Built and Description — optional.
    • Energy Price Zone — leave it on auto-detect; the zone is detected from the address after the building is saved. You can also pick one yourself.
  3. Save. The building opens with its tabs: Overview, Units, Tenants, Meters, Energy and Documents.

What to do next, in this order

  1. Add the units (locals) tenants can rent — Units tab.
  2. Add the meters — Meters tab → Add Meter, one per utility, with the exact meter number from the invoice.
  3. Add the tenants and assign them to their locals — Tenants in the sidebar.
  4. Get consumption in: upload utility invoices, or connect a data source under Analytics → Data Import.

Many buildings at once: with AI answers enabled, Smart Setup in the assistant (the paperclip) reads a spreadsheet or CSV with your buildings, units, tenants and meters and creates them after you confirm what it found.

Editing or deleting: open the building and use Edit on the Overview tab. Deleting a building removes its locals, meters and their readings — it cannot be undone.
