Why don't I see energy prices or the cost line on my analytics chart?
If the Energy Price and Cost toggle buttons are missing or the price/cost lines do not appear on your chart, check these common causes:
1. No energy price zone set on your building
This is the most common reason. The system needs to know which ENTSO-E market area to fetch prices from.
- Fix: Go to Buildings → select your building → Overview tab → set the "Energy Price Zone" field to your zone code (e.g. DK1, NO1, SE3).
- After saving, go back to Analytics → Energy and the toggles should appear.
2. Building not selected in the dashboard
The Energy dashboard requires a building selection to show price data.
- Fix: Use the building dropdown at the top of the Analytics page to select the building with a configured price zone.
3. No spot price data available for the selected period
ENTSO-E publishes day-ahead prices. If you are looking at a future date beyond tomorrow, prices may not be available yet.
- Fix: Adjust the date range to a past period where spot prices exist.
4. Zone was just configured
After setting the zone, the system needs a moment to fetch prices. The data typically becomes available within a few minutes.
- Fix: Wait briefly and refresh the page.
5. The toggles are there but the line is flat at zero
This can happen if your building has a zone but the selected period has no consumption data. The cost line is calculated as consumption × spot price — if consumption is zero, cost is zero.
- Fix: Ensure your meters have readings for the selected date range. Check Analytics → Data Import to verify data is flowing.
Where to check: Buildings → Overview (verify zone). Analytics → Energy tab (check toggles). Analytics → Data Import (verify meter data).
