Why does my building chart show a 'main meter totals only' info banner?

The amber info banner "Showing main meter totals only for [type]" appears on the building overview consumption chart when one or more of your meters is designated as a main meter (is_main_meter = true).

What it means: The chart is filtering out sub-meter data for the listed energy types and only displaying the main meter's readings. This prevents double-counting — since a main intake meter already includes all sub-meter consumption in its total.

Example: If you have an electricity main meter (4,500 kWh) and a ventilation sub-meter (2,400 kWh), without the filter the chart would incorrectly show 6,900 kWh. With the main meter set, it correctly shows 4,500 kWh and the banner confirms the filter is active.

The banner lists which energy types are affected. For example, "electricity" means only the main electricity meter is shown, while other types without a main meter (like water or gas) still sum all their meters.

If you do not want this filtering

1. Go to Analytics → Meters
2. Select the meter marked as main
3. Click the "Is Main Meter" toggle to set it to "No"
4. The chart will revert to summing all meters of that type

When to keep the filter: Keep it when your building has an intake meter plus sub-meters for the same energy type. This is the most common and correct configuration.

When to remove the filter: Remove it if your meters measure independent, non-overlapping consumption (e.g., two separate electrical feeds that are not sub-metered from a single intake).

Where to check: The banner appears automatically on Buildings → select building → Overview tab when main meter filtering is active.
