I imported data but nothing shows in the charts — troubleshooting
If you've imported data but the charts remain empty, work through this checklist in order:
1. Check import status
Go to Analytics → Data Import and find your import. What does the status show?
- "completed" ✓ — data was successfully imported, continue to step 2
- "processing" — still being processed, wait a few minutes
- "failed" — there was an error; click on the import to see the error message
- "partial" — some rows imported, some failed; check the error log for details
2. Verify meter mapping
The imported data must be linked to a meter in your building. If the import created new meters, verify they are assigned to the correct building. Go to Buildings → your building → Meters tab and check.
3. Check the building's facility link
Your building must be linked to the analytics engine. If that link is missing, the building won't show any analytics data even though readings exist. It is usually created automatically when you first connect a data source, but if the building was created before analytics was enabled, it may need to be linked manually.
4. Check the time range
The dashboard's date range selector must include the dates of your imported data. If you imported January 2025 data but the dashboard is showing February 2025, you won't see it. Adjust the date range.
5. Check meter status
The meter must be "active". Inactive, maintenance, or faulty meters are excluded from charts.
6. Check the correct dashboard tab
Water meters only show on the Water tab, waste on Waste. If your meter is typed as "water" but you're looking at the Energy tab, it won't appear there.
7. Check the import's health line
On Analytics → Data Import, imports with an ongoing fetcher (API connections and webhook sources) show a line under the status badge: "Auto-fetch OK · 2 hours ago", "Auto-fetch retrying", "Auto-fetch failing", "Auto-fetch paused", or "Auto-fetch disabled — API key rejected". Compare the "OK · X ago" time against how often you expect this source to deliver: an hourly feed that last succeeded a day ago has stopped, while a monthly report that last arrived three weeks ago is fine. See "How to tell if my gateway is still alive — reading the import health line".
