How do I troubleshoot when Data Fix shows no issues or fails?
If you open Data Fix and the preview shows zero issues or the feature is not behaving as expected, work through this checklist:
1. Check consent
- The consent checkbox at the top must be checked and saved (green "Consent accepted" badge visible)
- If the badge is not showing, the save may have failed — check for error messages
2. Check meter selection
- You must select an active meter from the dropdown
- Only active meters appear in the list — inactive, maintenance, or faulty meters are filtered out
- If no meters appear, verify you have active meters assigned to the currently selected building
3. Check the time period
- Default is "Last month" — if your data issues are outside that range, switch to "Custom" and set appropriate dates
- The maximum allowed range is 90 days — for larger ranges, run multiple passes
- Verify your meter actually has readings in the selected period (check Analytics → Energy dashboard)
4. Preview shows 0 issues
- Your data may actually be clean — no gaps, duplicates, or anomalies detected
- Check if fixes were already applied in a previous run
- Try a wider time range to catch issues in a different period
- For plateau detection, make sure you enabled it in Advanced options (it is off by default)
5. Preview works but Apply fails
- Your confirmation token may have expired — click Preview again for a new token
- Another user may have modified the same data between your preview and apply
- Check the error message for specific details
6. Billing period warning
- If your selected range includes data from past months, a yellow warning appears reminding you to verify the period has not been invoiced
- This is advisory — it does not block the operation, but you should confirm before applying
7. Error after apply
- All changes are rolled back on failure — your data is unchanged
- Check the error message and try again with a narrower time range or fewer fix types enabled
Where to check: Analytics → Data Fix for the tool itself; Analytics → Energy dashboard to verify your meter has data in the selected period.
